LDRS project results: After some excellent advice we decided to fly the booster and the sustainer separately but at the same time. With horrible luck the vent tube in our booster HyperTEK tank became blocked and would not fill completely. Unfortunately we had to scrub that portion, but the sustainer flew well on two K570's! I guess the booster will have to fly at the Team 1 launch in November. Builders: Mark Palmer & Scott Miller Donators: Cesaroni & SFSM Industries LDRS or Bust... Pictures, pictures, and more pictures! Just click here Last pics before the flight!!! 7.5" diameter fully loaded with 11 motors! The plan is to have a 98mm mount surrounded by 8 - 38mm motor mounts. This is just the booster, the sustainer contains a 5.5" opening to allow many combinations. 2 - 54mm motors are the plan for LDRS 22. The motors in order: - A central HyperTEK M1000 lit right on the pad (9 second burn) - 0.5 second into the flight 2 J330's will be lit - 3.5 seconds into the flight 2 J400's will be lit - 6.5 seconds into the flight 4 J330's will be lit to help the M1000 finish the burn After drag separation the sustainer will light 2 K570's to finish the flight of the most complex rocket Mark or I have ever built!
